Rangers target Bruno Alves has arrived in Glasgow for signing talks.

Portugal defender Alves, 35, is halfway through a two-year deal with Serie A side Cagliari but has flown in for discussions about a move to Rangers.

The former Porto, Zenit St Petersburg and Fenerbahce centre-back has won 89 caps and was in Portugal’s Euro 2016-winning squad.

Rangers finished third in the Scottish Premiership last season, 39 points behind champions Celtic.
