Yes, that is a dog running for mayor…

Wednesday, September 13, 2017

While many parts of the world may be crying out for inspiring political leadership one Canadian town has taken that search to a new level.

Meet Finn – a five-year-old Australian cattle dog who is running for mayor of St John’s in Newfoundland.

Finn, who is no stranger to the camera having starred in the film Maudie, announced his candidacy with campaign video highlighting the issues of potholes and snow clearing.

Unsurprisingly, with his canine charm, the four-legged candidate is proving popular with the voters.

However, Finn won’t actually appear on the ballot paper – it was all a stunt orchestrated by his owner Glenn Redmond, an animal trainer and stunt performer.

Check out Finn’s powerful campaign video above.
