England Under-21s have kept their Euro 2017 hopes alive by beating Slovakia to ensure they can still qualify for the knockout stages.

After a disappointing 0-0 draw with Sweden, things seemed to be going from bad to worse for the Young Lions when Martin Chrien’s header meant Slovakia were one goal ahead at half-time.

But Aidy Boothroyd’s men came out after the break with a renewed vigour, and probably deserved the three points they picked up thanks to Alfie Mawson’s equaliser and Nathan Redmond’s winning goal.
