Form_Guide_FINAL.jpg

Gameweek 9 is around the corner and before you confirm your team, check out the Weekly Form Charts. These form charts should be one of many tools you use when deciding on your Gameweek transfers, formation andor captain armbands. I created these last year to shift the captain choice from pure gut feel to a choice made from stats and history. In Gameweek 8, the charts had an off week with the Pick of the fixtures being Bournemouth vs Hull and to be fair, that was nearly an orange game, Goal swing of +18

Unfortunately we still cannot produce all the charts as we would need all teams to play home and away at least 6 times however, unlike last week, we can now introduce the 3 game Home vs Away chart, read on for more details

Eventually there will be 4 Charts added to this article as follows….

Home vs Away Form (Last 6 Games)
This was the original chart I created which looks at the form of the home side over their last 6 home games and the same for the away side over the same time period. 12 Gameweek’s are needed before I can look at this one, 6 home Gameweek’s and 6 Away Gameweek’s for all 20 teams. I will explain this more in Gameweek 13.

Home vs Away Form (Last 3 Games)
This chart gives you a shorter view of form keeping the Home vs Away factor in play. The teams on the left are the home playing games and the teams on the right, the away teams. This gives a short term view of whether there is a form bias for a team playing at home or on the road

Overall Form (Last 6 Games)
As it sounds, the form over the last 6 games regardless of whether the team shows a bias in performance at their own ground or not. This week is the first week for this chart, check it out below!

GW9 O6

Overall Form (Last 3 Games)
As it sounds, the form over the last 3 games regardless of whether the team shows a bias in performance at their own ground or not. This week is the first week for this chart, check it out below!

Chart Pick!

Based on Arsenal being present in 2 of the form charts, and having a Goal Swing of +25 (Arsenal Goals Scored 16 + Boro’s Goals Conceded 9 = 25I have to look to that game for a source of FPL Points. The chart cant pick the player however looking at the stats, Walcott has had more shots on goal than any other Midfielder and with goals for midfielders carrying an extra point, Theo Walcott would be a very wise investment this week

The Charts Explained

  • Every match being played in the Gameweek is represented down the middle of the chart. The order is simply the time in which that game will be played stating from the early kickoff and ending with the Monday Night Football game, this weeks Orange Fixture

  • The bars on the left show the position the home team have in the overall form table over the last 3 games

  • The bars on the right show the position the away team have in the overall form table over the last 3 games

  • The Green bar indicates that team are higher placed in the form table for that game than the team represented by the red bar

  • If the bars are Blue, that means both home and away teams are tied in the form table in the same position.

  • The numbers within the bars show the number of goals scored (GF) and the number of goals conceded (GA) for each team, overall over the last 3 games

  • The highlighted Orange game(s) indicates the game that, on form, should produce the most goals.

Good Luck all and remember, these charts are based on stats, use them as a guide, not as a silver bullet
